The Artistic Spark Yet Burns

How’s it going y’all? I know that I’ve become a tad more sporadic with blog posts. My apologies for that; however I find that one tends to need to live life in order to have experiences worth writing about. In any case I’m currently in my hometown in Indiana. Both my brother and I visiting my dad for a little bit, while we’re here I’m going to be once again “subcontracting” basically helping my dad out and being paid to do so.

My brother and I were actually supposed to have arrived here yesterday. Unfortunately due to weather conditions our flights kept getting pushed back further and further. Thankfully we were able to catch the last flight to Chicago, though we ended up having to spend the night in the airport. After a long day both my brother and I were just toasted, hungry a lil irritable (myself anyways) and we basically just camped out at the closest terminal.

Now I don’t know if any of y’all have been stranded in an airport overnight or not. If you have though you’ll either learn how to sleep anywhere, or you’ll stay up for a bit then still learn that lesson. Last night my mind was fairly restless and I just decided to get up and walk. Keep in mind O’hare International Airport is a large space by airport standards.

I grabbed my phone and earbuds and just…walked. In terms of airports, just due to the design and art of/inside the place? I love Chicago. As I was walking I realized it’s been quite awhile since I’ve picked up either pen or pad. Yesterday I did though, personally I think it was time. I had/have some thoughts I’m still unpacking, trying to figure out what my feeling are on a few things.

Sometimes you just need to walk. Unpack things in your head y’know? I will say that my artistic spirit remains intact and active. In fact I’m currently working on two new poems and have begun transcribing a lot of previously written material into one solid document. My vision of self-publishing a collection of my poetry remains intact my minions. The best dreams are worth taking the time to achieve correctly though I think.

Keep an eye out y’all, I’ll likely be posting some more things soon.

As always my friends Rapha yada,

~Richard
