Remember The Past & Looking Forward

How’s it going y’all? Depending on your time in the world it may already be September 11th. It was a day that changed everything, now as this is my blog I’m going to voice my opinion unpopular though it may be. Both scripture and experience has taught me that it’s better to speak your mind than let your thoughts consume you.

So my thoughts are this, September 11th was a tragedy. Undoubtedly so, however I think we’ve essentially made a holiday over tragic loss of life. We get stuck in the past. There’s this song by John Mayer. “Moving on and getting over are not the same it seems to me.” There IS a difference between the two. NOBODY will EVER forget or get over 9/11. Nor should they; however in my mind I think that we focus on the tragedy rather than what those heroes and fallen sacrificed.

We’re still around, and there’s a difference between posting stuff on social media about the tragedy, about who said what…. There’ve been documentaries, conspiracy theories and much more. It’s time we as a a nation just…..stopped. Time we moved on, directed our focus to other things we can improve and make better for everyone.

When the national anthem is played, at sporting events or wherever everyone SHOULD be taking a moment of silence. I’m personally asking anyone that follows my blog or goes and reads these blog posts to do something for me.

For yourselves. Instead of posting stuff on social media about 9/11, upcoming elections, which candidate is better…..Just to quote Jesus when he spoke to the waves. “Peace, be still.” Y’all have seen me close these posts in the old familiar ways. Tonight I’ll share a poem I adore. By Dylan Thomas Page.

“Do not go gently into that good night.”

Something to think about, we’re the ones who are alive. We should rage against the dying of the light.

Rapha Yada, Release control and be stilled, find peace.

I hope you are all well my friends; show love, help try bringing peace.

Peace be with y’all,

Richard
