Trick or Treat

Sup y’all? It’s 3 days from Halloween. Least where I am in the world. The kids will all be out running around for candy. The adults, including me are interested in spooky Halloween parties where there’ll be alcohol and God knows what else.

The whole trick or treat phrase is really already grating on me. See I recently started facing down my dreams. Dreams are a weird thing… My belief system is Christianity and there’s evidence in scripture at least of prophetic dreams. Now don’t get the wrong idea y’all I’m not egotistical enough to say that I’m a prophet. I just know that what science says is that dreaming isn’t exactly something that can be interpreted.

That being said….I’ve been recently picking apart a dream I’ve been having off and on for the last ten years. After having started taking care of my mental health recently I’ve been remembering things. Memories I haven’t really thought about in a long time. Most of em’ involve some history from my hometown. Evansville Indiana…

Been doing a lot of journaling recently, the way I process most things. Through poetry, see I’ve been writing a lot about the town I grew up in and someone significant there. Typically there’s always some friend or person where we grew up that we stay in contact with. There’s this girl in Indiana that I’ve kept in contact with off and on over the years. Though through working through some of my emotional stuff I’ve been re-evaluating my relationship with this person.

Tricks and treats am I right? Feels like a mix of both to be honest… Like a trick that I’m realizing this stuff now when we live so far from each other. Yet at the same time…it’s kinda a treat too. I’m getting ready to go back to Evansville for Christmas break and somehow or another I know something will happen. Gotta say I’m low key freaking out about this visit….

As for other stuff wanted to let y’all know I’m going to probably be uploading some new original content for poetry here soon. Might do some live streaming of various games or something soon too. So just keep an eye out y’all.
